Interesting & Fascinating
Fascination – Zugspitze
At 2,962 m, Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. It is located in the Wetterstein mountain range in the northern limestone Alps. The border between Austria (Tyrol) and Germany (Bavaria) runs between the western and eastern summits. The “golden” summit cross is the destination of many mountaineers and excursionists. However, you need to be sure-footed and have a head for heights to reach it.
Innsbruck, the provincial capital of Tyrol…
…the treasure trove of the Alps. You don’t come here for just one reason. It’s the diversity that makes it so. Twice the venue of the Winter Olympics (1964 and 1976), a historically grown cultural center with an 800-year history. A city of art treasures, famous for its “Goldenes Dachl”, the “Schwarze Mander”, the Hofburg and Ambras Castle. City stroll and summit conquest. Baroque opera and brass band music. Tuxedos and lederhosen.
Highline 179
History meets innovation – is probably the most apt description for the unique backdrop and a spectacular #BlickMitKick. In the middle of one of the most important fortress ensembles in Central Europe – surrounded by a dreamlike landscape and imposing mountain ranges – the highline179 connects the Ehrenberg castle ruins with Fort Claudia.
Animal & play park Bichlbach
An attraction for children and adults – a zoo with a difference! Over 200 animals to watch and some to pet. The offer is complemented by a children’s autodrome, a children’s playground and the fairytale world.
Partnach Gorge & Höllental Gorge
Fancy adventure? Then a hike through the Partnach or Höllental gorge – especially in rainy weather – is just the thing. The increased volume of water makes the falls, eddies and waves even more powerful. Grandiose!
Olympic ski jump Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Defy gravity and fly, fly, fly – athletes who take off from the new Olympic ski jump can live this dream. For a brief moment at least. A guided tour of the ski jump on the Gudiberg takes you into the world of these fearless jumpers. On site, you will explore a terrain that you otherwise only know from sports broadcasts. From the legendary Four Hills Tournament, for example.
Munich, the capital of Bavaria…
Experience a day in the Bavarian capital. Whether Olympic Park, Frauenkirche, German Museum, the Old Town, BMW Museum, Alianz Arena, Viktualienmarkt or botanical garden, there is something for everyone…
Neuschwanstein – Royal Castles
Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public in 1886. The shy king had built the castle to withdraw from the public eye – now his retreat became a magnet for the public.
LINDERHOF and HOHENSCHWANGAU are also worth a visit….
